About International Inclusive Organization Watersports

In 2015, Steve Bender was asked to be the Chair of the Newport Beach Host Town Committee for the Special Olympic World Games in Los Angeles. He met with the director of Orange County Special Olympics to discuss the athlete’s needs. It was at this meeting he learned that Special Olympics had dropped sailing in 2008 due to budget cuts.

He was surprised that the community he loved didn’t have the means to support a sailing program for Special Olympics.

He met with many Rotarians and friends and now California Inclusive Sailing is hosting athletes with all abilities as well as veterans with disabilities all along the California Coast.

With the help of many amazing volunteers, we have expanded our Inclusive Sailing Programs from San Diego to San Francisco this year!  We are excited to a be a strategic partner with “The International Inclusive Organization” which will be working with Rotary Clubs, Government and NGO’s  to make our world more inclusive.
